Ramada with a lot of extras
- What did you like most?From my experience and what I’ve read from other guests, Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Bangkok Menam Riverside is a solid choice if you want to stay right on the Chao Phraya River with a classic riverside atmosphere. Many services are included, such as a tuk-tuk service to nearby Asiatique and convenient river transport connecting to the main river shuttles, making it easy to explore Bangkok’s riverfront attractions. The staff were outstanding. We were especially impressed by a trainee who handled our check-in in a very professional way—far beyond our expectations. As it was my wife’s birthday, he kindly organized a cake and made sure it was delivered at the perfect time. Additionally, the General Manager sent a personal birthday card, which was highly appreciated. Small details like this really make a difference. During check-in, the trainee also ensured our room was ready on time. While waiting, we enjoyed a welcome drink and snacks in the lounge bar, which were included. Later, we used the hotel’s complimentary river shuttle, which was excellent and saved us additional transportation costs when visiting the Grand Palace and the Skywalk. We also appreciated the flexibility of the service—when we arrived just 15 seconds after the shuttle had departed, the Ramada boat driver kindly returned to pick us up. A very nice gesture and great example of customer care. In the evening, we visited Asiatique, which was a great experience. Because of this, we did not use the hotel’s riverside restaurant, although it looked very appealing. Overall, a great hotel offering good value for money, excellent service, and well-trained staff who truly make the difference.
- Was there anything you didn't like?On the downside, from my point of view, the hotel feels a bit dated in some areas and could benefit from a refresh, especially in the rooms and public spaces. While everything was clean and functional, the overall design and furniture no longer feel as modern compared to newer riverside hotels. The location, although beautiful, is slightly away from the city center, so guests rely on the shuttle boat or hotel transportation to get around. Some additional observations—none of them real deal-breakers, but worth mentioning. The blackout curtains in the stateroom do not create the best first impression when entering the room while they are closed; a different fabric or color could improve the overall ambiance. The bed was comfortable, but it moved slightly as it was on wheels—perhaps adding brakes would help. The pathway and waiting area to the river tender could be more modern and informative, as it is a nice space that is currently underutilized while waiting for the boat. Car parking was convenient and free of charge, which is a plus, but shaded parking or window covers would be appreciated, as the sun can be quite intense. As a small suggestion, offering a window-cleaning service—something commonly seen in Europe—could be a nice added touch for guests.

- What did you like most?The facility is very clean. Staff are polite and very helpful. Hotel has a very nice view. Lots of amenities that you can enjoy, has a big pool to enjoy, nice spa and they even let us leave our luggages after check out to enjoy the rest of our time since our flight was late at night plus an amenity that you can take a shower even you were already check out before going to the airport. If I have to go back to Bangkok I will surely go back to Ramada!
